WHAT IS CAMPUS OUTREACH?

Glorifying by Building

OUR VISION

The vision of Campus Outreach is “Glorifying God by Building Laborers on the Campus for the Lost World.” We build laborers with a commitment to Jesus and His Great Commission through evangelism and discipleship.

We hope to passionately reach students with the gospel and train them to become mature followers of Christ. Our desire is to see students leave college equipped to labor in the harvest field for the glory of God.

Believing, Developing, Reaching…

OUR VALUES:

We are…

  • Compelled by the Love of God and Committed to Following Hard After Christ. (2 Cor. 5:14-15)

  • Believing God's Promises and Praying for God's Action (2 Pet. 1:3-4, Matt. 9:37-38)

  • Developing Leaders (Mark 10:43-45)

  • Growing through Multiplication (John 15:8, 2 Tim. 2:1-2)

  • Reaching the Lost (Luke 19:10)

Living Out Our Commitments

OUR DISTINCTIVES

  • In Connection With the Church: We believe in a strong relationship with the church. Each regional ministry is under the authority and leadership of a local hub church, which provides a crucial source of accountability, leadership, and resources.

  • Life-on-Life Discipleship: We believe the best spiritual training takes place in the context of relationships. We emphasize the importance of relational ministry – one individual sharing his or her life with another. Through this process believers are born, discipled, and grow to maturity. We desire to live out the Gospel in all our relationships among students, with staff, among the various Campus Outreach ministries, and in the body of Christ.

  • Large Events and Small Groups: Christ ministered in two ways. First, he invested in small, relational settings where leaders and participants could influence one another. Second, he ministered through powerful events that gathered, trained, and encouraged large groups of people all at once. We provide a variety of large gathering and small group contexts for students to grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ and one another.

  • Catalytic Growth Opportunities: Beyond our campus, we work with other Campus Outreach ministries in our region to provide catalytic events for students to experience meaningful spiritual growth in life-giving environments. ReCon Conference, ALPHA Project, Alpha+ Cross-Cultural Projects, Regional Citywide nights and Fall Retreat are all designed for students to experience “catalytic growth” in their faith and friendships.

  • Leadership Development: As our values state, we believe in developing leaders so that gospel can spread and disciples can multiply throughout the campus and the world. We seek to not only evangelize the lost and establish Christians in their faith, but also equip students to evangelize and disciple others.

“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.” (Matt 28:19-20)
